Self Improvement
On our way to any success, whether it's success with our finances, or relationships, our physical fitness or in our self improvement for that matter, many of us do not reach that ultimate goal. Why? We fail to clearly identify exactly what we want. That's exactly the reason why we don't get what we want. We don't clearly know and even if we do, it's usually just stated as a wish. Someday, we'll go on that vacation honey. Well, at least that guy knew what he wanted. But saying that you'll do something someday, is weak. Anyhow, I'll get into that more in my next article. Today, I want to focus o......

by George Tsoukalas Peak Performance Technologies Self-improvement is the key to success in many areas of our lives. I wanted to share my experiences and what I do for mentally preparing myself for peak performance. What is mental preparation? Mental preparation is about visualizing a specific situation you want to create, exactly the way you want to create it, and mentally âgoing through the motionsâ to increase the probability that you will get your desired outcome. How can we accomplish this? Here are the steps I follow: 1. I Write out specifically and exactly what I want to accomplish.......

by George Tsoukalas Why is Self-Improvement Key in Creating Life Long Success? What an important question! Why is self-improvement so important in creating life long success? I mean, it goes without saying, but can you really achieve life long success in any area of your life, without first understanding what your current actions are giving you? If your day-to-day actions are not producing the results that would make your life a success, by your terms, what needs to change? If we are the ones that produce the results in our lives, and I believe we absolutely control that destiny, wouldn't we n......

by George Tsoukalas Self-improvement for a New You in 2010 (and beyond!) Happy New Year to you! A new year has begun today. Many of us think of the new year as a time to change our focus and get back on track on actions we did not take the year before. These actions probably include going on a diet, saving more money, taking a closer look at our finances, looking for a job and doing some stuff around the house that we have been putting off. I was thinking about this and asked myself, do we really need to wait for a new year to begin to commit to taking actions we should have been taking all al......

by George Tsoukalas The Importance of Purpose As we begin on our journey to fulfill our desires, I believe we will need to fully understand what we love to do the most, in the form of service, or work. We often see television interviews or read newspaper articles about people that are extremely successful in a certain area. This extreme level of success manifested from passion and desire. To me, passion and desire are the driving force of achievement. Without it, the chance that we will give up or procrastinate greatly increases to the point where our goals will seem unattainable. When go......

I love this quote by Beverly Sills, “You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don’t try.”

Fears we have of failing, limit what we will attempt to do.  In some cases, they will immobilize us. I want you to think about this. When you fear to do something and not do it at all, won’t this lead to ultimate failure? Even if you attempt to do the thing you fear and you don’t get the result you want, does that mean that you failed? I believe that the answer is yes, if you never try  again, but no, if you try again. We have to keep trying until we get the result we want, or something like it.  You see, we all succeed in producing a result.  No matter if it is the desired result or not.  The important thing to remember, is that we can change our approach until we get the desired result.

Thomas Edison, the great inventor, got results that didn’t do what he wanted, but he seemed to do two things with them; a) make the invention useful for something b) never give up until he got the desired result (magic formula).

Don’t be afraid of looking bad or feeling embarrassed of “failing”. If you never try to do the thing you fear, you’ll never get it! That is ultimate failure.

To help you reject the fear that is stopping you, analyze it’s origins. Are your fears true, or just excuses that you have rationalized? Oftentimes we are our own worst enemies. We literally imprison ourselves by the thoughts we think – and those thoughts may not be true at all.

So take a look at your fears and overcome the ones that are holding you prisoner.

“What we seek we shall find; what we flee from flees from us.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
