self-improvementSo you have taken the time to write down your goals and create a plan for their attainment. You have even started to take action and are making steady progress. However, depending on how big your goals are, you will need physical energy to see them through to the end.

I’m not a health professional or expert, but I know that there are some key success principles surrounding what we can do to create an abundance of physical and mental energy.

1) Get enough sleep. This study has given various different results. Expert views I have read and heard range from 6-8 hours of sleep a day. Being that we are on the sleep topic, we should also ensure that we do not eat a meal and then go to sleep. I have heard that the last thing we eat should be at least 2-3 hours before we go to bed. The reasoning behind this is that our body uses up energy to digest and this defeats the purpose of sleep. Also, if we eat and go to bed, what we eat will be stored as mostly fat.

2) Drink enough water. I have to say that water is key in having energy. Also eating water rich foods like fruits, vegetables and sprouts is key. If you look at the most powerful animals in the world, they are herbivores. This reminds me of a good friend of mine who is a vegetarian. He is over 50 years old, but looks like he’s 35. He is in great physical shape and has an amazing amount of physical energy. It is truly amazing.

3) Learn effective breathing exercises. Breath is of vital importance to keeping a high level of energy. Deep breathing accomplished through any kind of aerobic exercise helps keep your lymphatic system cleaning toxins out of your blood stream which steal your energy. This is why Yoga focuses so much on breathing effectively.

These are some tips I have come across and I encourage you to further look into them.

Keep your energy high and it will fuel your success!
