6 Human Needs - Anthony Robbins at TED Awards
Anthony Robbins just talked about why we do what we do,
6 human needs and how they impact our lives.
To summarize, the 6 human needs are:
1) Certainty - meaning that we need certainty
in our lives for some level of security and pleasure.
2) Uncertainty - meaning that we need variety
or we would be bored out of our minds with total
certainty.
3) Significance - can also be called importance.
We need to feel significant or needed.
4) Connection & Love - I think this need speaks for
itself.
5) To Grow - We need to grow as human beings.
When we stop growing we will become comfortable. Why is this bad? When we
become comfortable, we stop growing! When we stop growing, or lives start to
lessen in quality.
6) To contribute - When you contribute to something
you believe in how does that make you feel? Not
only do you feel important, but you know you are
doing something beyond yourself. It is the final step in a
fulfilled life.
I'm finding that by living life and keeping these 6 human needs in mind and how they
work, I am constantly making a lot of new distinctions about my life. The key is
to find balance between them all.
